CALLING TEACHERS!!! Need some help/advice

I have an interview down in GA and the principal asked me to bring a lesson plan 'exemplifying' my teaching skills....

it's been awhile since I've written up a plan...anyone have any suggestions for Elementary age students that is creative and fun?

I was thinking doing a 'welcome back' or an 'introduce yourself' concept since I'd be a new teacher. But I'll take any suggestions~

Did he tell you what subject area he wanted to see?

try going to www.lessonplanspage.com. It has a ton of different lesson plans. I never use them straight from there, I always adapt them, but they really help when I feel I have hit a wall with planning. Good luck! (I would also plan something that is adaptable to any grade in K-4, so you won't be left freaking out if they tell you it has to be for 1st grade, and you already prepared it for 4th) Good luck!

if it was me i wouldn't do a welcome back lesson. if he wants to see something exemplifying your skills i think he wants a typical lesson that can be done for a lesson sometime during the year. i'd pick something that ties together multiple subjects or standards, something that shows how you can integrate content from different areas to enhance learning and meaning. if you could do one for a k-2 level then you may be able to work off a piece of literature. good luck.
