I just had pre-cana last night and it went well. This program is a little different. It's not just a one day thing, we are going for 7 weeks and every week we cover a different topic. It seems as if we are going to have a good experience. There are 4 engaged couples and 8 married couples who will be leading the classes. What I really liked was that the Married couples were from several parishes in the Queens south cluster we're in, and they are all in diff. stages of marriage. So we get to see what diff. couples are like and their experiences so far.
I just wanted to share so that people who have yet to do this aren't so worried about it. You don't have to share anything you don't want to and the topics discussed are very crucial to a marriage, not just the wedding day. It gives you a real sense of what marriage is about not the illusions or fantasies we all have about it. Good Luck to all!

Re: Calm your worries about Pre-cana!
OOOh, you just reminded me that I have to pick up the pre-cana info at my rectory ASAP. I think we are going to do the one day class though. We also live in Queens, but we live in Northeast Queens. My friend is getting married 2 months after us (at the same church), so we might sign up with them. We have a bunch of churches to choose from for Pre-cana (my parish doesn't offer it). Where did you guys go???

Re: Calm your worries about Pre-cana!
firegal - I just wanted to let you know that you can print the precana form off the internet. Just find the brooklyn diocese and you can download it from there, they also have a list of places. There's no info yet for 2004. I'm sorry but I don't know how to post links.

Our parish church is St. Benedict Joseph, but Pre-cana is in Holy Child Jesus

Re: Calm your worries about Pre-cana!
I am going to be doing the one day pre-cana in December in another parish because my parish does not do it.
