DOes anybody know of any inexpensive calypso or steel drum bands? I am getting married at the Crescent Beach Club and think that it would be great to have that for the cocktail hour.
try www.gigmasters.com and www.jrsoca.com
I'm getting married at the Crescent and having a calypso band too. I booked it with my regular band and ceremony music through Stolen Momets, they're out of Westchester. Check them out, you can listen to their music on the website.
We used Oscar for Steel pan, he was I think 400 for the hour, does a great job. If you are interested, Fm me! My husband is from Trinidad so he was very picky, our steel pan guy was GREAT!
The verdict is also a great band, we had them booked for our wedding, but then realized a DJ< band, Steel pan, etc was too much for one reception. but they are turly talented, they play reggae, Soca, calypso, you can find them at www.verdictisin.com
