Camera Scavenger Hunt?

Camera Scavenger Hunt?

I'm debating about whether to use the scavenger hunt idea for the table cameras. I think it's a really cute idea and a way to help ensure we get some nice pictures from the disposable camera. However, will people really follow the directions? Is this something that guests will ignore or think is stupid?

I guess it is kinda something you have to know your guests would want to do..I already know FH's family won't dance and are so BORING so they would not do anything. For me personally it is a waste, but I love the idea don't get me wrong...ask your bridal party and a few people who would be coming what they think.
My hall is also too dark and I know the pics would not come out.
things to think of...It sounds like fun though..I would do it if I went to a wedding!

Only one table followed mine. Then one of my friends took the other cameras and tried to follow the directions on whatever rolls of film were left.
I could tell when I got the pics back.

I also only put out 5 table cameras for this reason.

My advice would be only put them on tables where you know a few of your frineds would actually follow the directions.

Also, make sure you remind people to use the flash and GET UP VERY CLOSE. Most of my pics were too dark because people stood back to far.

My mom already bought the cameras and she's putting them out on every table. I didn't really even want the cameras anyway-my mom used them for my bat mitzvah and, from what I remember, there were few, if any, good pictures. She wants them and will spend the money developing the pictures. I thought this was a way to at least attempt to get some nice pictures. I'm still not sure if it's a waste of time for me to come up with a list of pictures though because people might not follow the instructions anyway.

I think that it depends upon your guests. We did it and our guests loved it and I loved the pictures that we got back. In fact, one of my favorite pics of my DH and I came from a table camera.

One word of advice- we made different photo lists for different tables. The first reason for doing this was so that we didn't have ALL of the same pics. The second reason is that we knew that our 'friend' tables would take more 'interesting' pics than let's say the tables where we put our elderly relatives. We tried to give people pics to take that they would actually feel comfortable taking.

OH! One more piece of advice. When you turn in the cameras, ask them to make you a picture CD as well. I wanted say that it was a few dollars more per camera (we actually developed them at Costco)- maybe not, I can't remember if it was free. The best part was that we then had all of the images in digital format, which meant making corrections (red eyes, lightness/darkness, cropping, etc.) was a piece of cake for pictures that were worth it. I would DEFINITELY recommend doing the photo CD.

TOTALLY agree with this. It also made it really easy to upload good photos to a shutterfly album without having to scan all of them.

Thanks for the advice. I plan on using different lists for each table. I think we have 24 exposures and I would probably just make a list of 10 pictures to take for each camera and leave the rest of the pictures up to the guests. I definitely have a fear of the type of pictures the younger crowd (the guys) will take. We went to a wedding where they just left the cameras on the table (no instructions) and FI's college friends decided all of the pictures they'd take would be without people's heads.

We did a list of 12 pics on 27 exposure cameras. Our guests LOVED doing the hunts! They were so creative. And yes some were taken in the bathroom, but thankfully those didn't come out!
