I'm not wearing white for my wedding and I want to wear a red cloak instead of a veil. But my fiance although isn't a catholic his family is. And several friends of mine who are catholic were upset when I mentioned I wanted to wear a red cloak. They said its not good for a bride to wear red. They didn't mind other colors but red they said was bad. They didn't know why, only that its not recommended. I thought red symbolize love and passion. Can anyone tell me why red is bad?

Re: Can a Bride wear RED?
Okay, this thing just isnt' dying. To answer everyones questions, my offiant is okay with what I'm wearing, we are NOT having a catholic ceremony. I'm not catholic, he is not catholic, is family is, but this isn't their wedding. As for my relationship with them, I'm really not worried. They can accept us for who we are or they can leave. We have two men in Kilts ready to drag anyone out who causes a problem. Again, I never ment for this to be as long as it is now. Thanks you all for your info on RED. Have a good one, I hope evereyones wedding turns out GREAT!

Re: Can a Bride wear RED?
To answer why no red for Roman Catholics.... It symbolizes Christ's blood. They made my aunt take off her ruby engagement ring. they don't like to mix death with new life and marraige.

I am all for having whatever you want on your wedding day but maybe you should really think about this. What will happen down the line when you are looking at your pictures and you are not into the medieval thing anymore? And I can't believe that any officiant would be ok with that. And make sure it get's fitted correctly. I don't think it was altered right.
Sorry about being rude but I am just being honest. And that is definetly not pagan attire.
