Can anyone explain how to get the pictures from my digital camera onto my computer

Okay, I am a complete computer idiot. DH usually does this , but I can't get a hold of him. Can anyone help?

well are you trying to do it from the memory card/stick in a reader or by plugging the USB cable right into the computer?

I have the camera plugged up to the computer.

When I try to pick the camera/scanner option on the MGI PhotoSuite it just starts scanning instead of giving me the option of from camera or scan.

ok try clicking on my computer and look for the drive that recgonizes it

Usually I just plug my camera in and turn it on and after a few seconds, the software to download it automatically pops up on the screen.

Apparently it doesn't recognize the camera.

ohhhh..you may need to install software--do you know how your DH usually does it?? Is the camera on and on play mode?

Well, I don't know where he put the disk. I guess I'll just have to wait till he gets home tonight.

Most cameras are automatically detectable from Windows XP. After its plugged in... you can go into My Computer and see if you see the camera drive there.

Its usually listed either by the name of the camera... or something called 'Removeable Disk'.

There are some cameras that do need software... but odds are if DH has done this already... the software should already be on there.
