I just recently found out that with 33 days to go till the wedding my company has secretly been planning to fire me without warning. Unfortunately, I'm not surprised because they make it a sport here to fire good people (they keep the bad ones) when they know that they most need to be employed (the last person was fired on x-mas eve). Luckily for me a perspective interview called and let it slip. I brought it to their attention that I'm aware of the plans they have and that they should've came to me with whatever problem they may have had so that I could've corrected it. Anyhow, out of all times, now I need to find a new job.
If any of you ladies knows of any Administrative positions available along the Queens/Nassau border please FM me.

Go on monster job.com Thats how I got my job , I was working for one company ( got that through Monster too) and had to leave so I just started posting my resume again on there and I swear within 5 days I was interviewing here and by the 10th day I was hired . just fill out there questinare as to what you are intrested in. There is alot out there

Wait, until you said your job was in NY..I thought you were my co-worker! My company l;ets go of all the good people too...or the good people leave....
In the 4 years I have been there...
One girl who worked there 14 years quit...
One who worked there 6 years quit..
and one who worked there 3 years quit....
Its a crappy place to be...always treating the new ones like they are gold until they see thru them in about a month or so...

how come a prospective inteviewee knew you were going to be fired? I've never been told 'we're interviewing you because we want to fire so and so'.
Maybe it's good that they are firing you. They sound like jerks. And you can collect unemployment so let them fire you, don't quit. At least it's something. And maybe any $$ you get from gifts at the wedding will help with bills for a bit. I don't know of anything right now at my firm, most the admin. assistants are legal secretaries.

Sorry to hear about yoru situation! I will never understand some companies! I mean my cousin's father (my uncle) died and the day she went back to work after her 5 day leave, she was laid off! How cold is that! (this was 3 years ago but still)

Do what my friend did. Get unemployment then get a job off the books until the wedding. After the wedding when she could concentrate on work, she got another job. Milk em for unemployment though. Can you waitress or something?
