Can anyone help me?!?!?!

I have been looking into going back to school/certificate program for wedding/event planning. Can anyone help me? I have looked online but, so far they arent with BBB and was told not to go with the school if they arent registered with BBB.
Does anyone know what I can do or where I can go?
TIA
P.S. most of you know I am a single mom so full time school is out of the question.

Did you see this site? It looks like there is a 5 day course and also a home study program. I'm not sure if they are registered with BBB.

I have a friend who met a the wedding planner her sister used when she got married and they clicked. She eneded up working with her as an assistant to gain experience-some sort of 'IN' might be a good place to start! Good luck!

Make your own luck!! I would call the wedding planners on LIW and ask them either if there are part-time positions available for the best training you can get . . . on the job . . . internship if you can afford to work events for free, or, you can see where they went for training/school!

Yup! Thats a great idea! Its really hard to get into if you don't have any experience.
I'm an event planner and there is no actual degree for it... I have a degree in Horticulture and Business.... but we always go to conferences to learn new things..

Re: Can anyone help me?!?!?!

I remember in HS my friend and I wanted to do this sooo badly. We were all hyped up about it for about a week or two lolz. Anyway, we called a few places and from what I remember its more of a 'who you know' sort of thing. Sure there's certificates, etc..but you need the clientele to really start up your business. I guess it makes sense if you were to go to an event planner would you rather hear 'I have such and such certificate' or would you rather hear 'I did such and such event'...

Best of luck! It sounds like a great idea!! Something I'd like to get into eventually myself
