Can anyone help with finding info for 4th of July on Long Island? (Sort of urgent request!)
My wedding's July 6 and I'd like to plan something low-key in Suffolk county (not TOO far east, though, since we're in Commack) for the bridal party and others who will be in town July 4 to see fireworks. However, I don't think I've ever been on LI for the 4th of July! Spent every summer growing up in Lake George and now I live in DC. Does anyone know of any July 4 fireworks events we could go to, or at least where I could find information on events like this?? I want to use it in the letter I am writing up for the bridal party tonight as well as in the Welcome letter at the hotels. Trying to get this info ASAP so anything would be appreciated! Thanks!!

The Gruccis have switched venues this year from their usual Jones Beach home base and will be lighting up the East End's night sky instead this July 4. Pick your perch atop the nearly 300-foot-high peak known as Bald Hill in Farmingville, spread out your lawn chairs and blankets, and prepare for a night of awe-inspiring pyrotechnics by the First Family of Fireworks. This ain't no sparkler-and-single-ignition-shot-cake type of show -- you can expect only the biggest and the best from these Long Island fireworks aficionados, who have produced nearly every major fireworks gala around the country, including six presidential inaugurations. If you can't make this trek to the top of Bald Hill, the Gruccis will also be pulling together the pyrotechnics on July 4 at the Long Island Ducks game, off a barge in the Shinnecock, and in Port Jeff's Raynor Park as part of the Lion's Festival. -- J. there are tons to depends on how much you want to spend. Manhattan has a great show.Any beaches

on july 3rd hofstra will be having fireworks - that i know so far...if you want to do somehtign the night before!!

Y'know...I WAS in NY once for July 4 and did see the Manhattan show over the East River, now that I think of it! Unfortunately, this time we need to stay on LI, preferably Suffolk county.Thanks for the Farmingville and Hofstra tips...those could work, though I'm not sure who will be around on the 3rd... we definitely want to try for the 4th, so keep those suggestions coming!!

I don't know if there are any that day, but usually that weekend with fireworks, what about a Long island Ducks game. Fun, Casual, Inexpensive, and great for men and children

Pt. Jeff has a fireworks thing on the fourth, and of course there is always Jones Beach. If it is a nice day/nite you could go to dinner anywhere from Babylon to Merrick by the water and watch the show.

Don't forget the fireworks display off of Jones Beach. It is awesome. You have to get there early and be prepared to sit in some traffic once it is over though.

go to ohekacastle.com - call them every year they have an outrageous 4th of July party they have free food, drinks, water rides, live music and great fireworks show
