I have been looking into going back to school/certificate program for wedding/event planning. Can anyone help me? I have looked online but, so far they arent with BBB and was told not to go with the school if they arent registered with BBB. Does anyone know what I can do or where I can go? TIA

Better Business Bureaus ...sorry, would you be able to ask her if there are programs that you can do to become certified?

I know its probably far from you, but I saw that last winter 'Wagner College' on Staten Island had a certificate program for wedding planning. Its worth checking into other colleges/univ. to see if they have something similar. I was pretty shocked when I saw that WC doing it.

Just an FYI...my sis wants to do the same thing and is interning with a wedding coordinator now. She was told the best thing to do is go to school for business management and work with an event planner. This way you have the experience but also the knowledge to start your own business one day.

I suggest looking at certificate programs or continuing education courses at either a community college or an accredited institution.
For example, here's a four-session introductory course at NYU. Here's the syllabus for the full certificate offered through NYU's School of Continuing and Professional Studies.

Thank you everyone. I have to sit down this weekend and figure out what I am going to do.
