Our's is very good and very reliable! My fiance's family has been going to them for a long time. Their names are Arnold & Gerry Grauer and the company is called Gold Art. They are at 8 West 47th Street in booths 51-52 (it's the jewelry exchange and they are the 3rd group on the left as you walk in). The phone number is (212) 719-1965. We are the3rd couple we knoe to get our e-ring at deAngelis jeweler's on Bowery. We worked with Larry Hoffman, overall an A++++++++++ experience, my e-ring and my sister's e-ring each apprasied for $5000 more than our fh's paid!
I live in Manhattan. We went to the Diamond Co. (in the Diamond District). I heard about them in New York Magazine - Best of New York issue. They have been around for a few generations and are known to be reputable and reasonable. The guy who helped us is Adam. I have their contact info at home. I'll post it later on. (i'm at work now)
My fiance went to Iannelli's located at 45 West 47th street. He had a great experience there, and was recommended to go there from 3 of his friends. The ring is gorgeous, and he guaranteed everything. We are going back there for our wedding bands. If you need anymore info fm me. Good luck.

I don't know one myself but I do recall Jennbaby talking about her jeweler (but he's down by City Hall). Do a search for jeweler where she is the poster and see what pops up. She highly recommended him. I have never been to him myself.
I got my ring from Abe at Ultimate Jewelers. A friend of the family was supposed to get me a ring and we walked inot Ultimat Jewelers just to get ideas. In the end, the ring they designed was such a good deal - our friend told us to take it. Even with him giving it to us witha great discount, our friend couldn't match the price. We later found out that Utlimate Jewelers is one of the biggest jewelers in the Diamond District. Their store is small so we had no idea. My ring appraised for almost 3 times what we paid and the appraiser said the ring was actually much better than the certificate claimed.
