Can anyone recommend a paint color that is true SAGE?

When I did the guest room a year ago, I bought what I thought was a sage green, but it ended up looking too 'minty'.

I painted my walls 'Swiss Chard' by Behr and I believe it is a true sage.

Mary, Is Behr good quality? Are you happy with the results? I have always heard that Benjamin Moore is better, but I have no clue about these things!

Yes, I was happy with the quality. One coat would have been fine, but I put a second coat on anyhow (just because I'm a little anal)!

You can have the Behr color made in Benjamin Moore paint if you want.

I am a fellow 'minty' accident person myself. I wanted a true sage and felt like I was living inside of a mint ice cream cone!

I made the same mistake too! I had my baby's room painted a green that was way too minty. When we moved, we painted it a much better color, like a sage. It is called Chive by Eddie Bauer. I love it and the quality seems to be very good.

A minty ice cream cone - LOL...I know I'm going to obsess over this paint color. If I end up with mint again, I'll be very upset!!

I don't know if this is too minty for you, but it's Benjamin Moore's Salisbury Green - HC-139:

(before our floors and base & shoe molding were finished.)

Benjamin Moore 'Light Khaki'

Go to their site and you can see colors of rooms. Alos when you buy, test with a small sample on your wall.

BM's HC-115 'Georgian Green' looks like a good sage color.

Demetra- I think the color that jenny5150 posted may be the color I used for my family room. It sounds very familiar...send Gus out for that swatch! I will double check for you.

I have a true sage in my kitchen! It's Benjamin Moore - Rosemary Sprig! It was recommended to me by the ladies here and I LOVE it!

Thanks Denise!!

the lesson I learned and will FOREVER remember: buy a quart and paint part of the wall first...never go straight from color chip to 3 gallons of paint to walls. That is why I lived in an ice cream cone for almost a year and hated it. Now I test, test and make sure before I paint.

Upon the recommendation on this board for Sashas (and Laura's) Ben Moore Rosemary Sprig, we did our entire living room and hall in it - I was nervous, that's alot of green walls - but it is GORGEOUS!!!!!!! I would consider it sage b/c that is the word I was using when I was looking and I am very happy with the color

Let us know what you go with
