I bought my dress at paradise bridal and have hear NOTHING but bad things about them, so I'd like to start looking for a seamstress now...
can anyone recommend one on EASTERN LONG ISLAND?

i personally have heard great things about Phylis @ Bridal Elegance in Dix Hills... however, i've recently gotten mixed reviews so i'm not sure now...

I have heard great things until recently. I have also heard that alot of posts about them get pulled so no one hears the bad things?
I was planning on bringing my dress there and now im not sure

ok well that doesn't give me info.
But yes I know they get pulled...all the vendors on here have positive reviews...every now and then you'll read a bad one about a vendor.
I guess you could say that is the downfall of this website, you don't read the bads, but at the other end of the spectrum every business is gonna get a bad review, that's just how it is.

I know every business gets bad reviews but I was just looking to find out other options for a seamstress, not bash her business

no I wouldn't want you to bash anyone's business, I was just curious since you'd mentioned you'd heard mixed reviews
As for the seamstress, there was a bride on the BR board that recommended this good seamstress...I'll try to look it up for you

one of the 07 girls had posted something that got pulled, she had a very bad experience with BE. I ordered my dress through there and phyllis is also doing my alterations. I haven't seen one dress store on here who didn't have mixed reviews so I'm going to stick with my decision and be happy about it.

honestly, i know exactly what you mean. However, i have also heard AMAZING things about her as well. You take the good, you take the bad, you take them both and ... well yeah.
i would discuss your concerns with her, she's been a pleasure to work with so far, and trust me, i think i'm a huge pain in her *** lol so if she's this great with me... i think she'd be great with other people as well.
i have several 'friends' who have used her, and they raved about her.

There is a seamstress in Sayville that recently opened her own shop. She is a lovely lady and I know alot of people that have been happy with her. It is Tanya's on Montauk Hwy in Sayville...HTH
