What kind of deposit some of your vendors are looking for? Such as. photographer,videographer, DJ etc...Thanks!

My Vendor Deposits:
Photo: $500
Video:$500
Invitations:$50
Flowers:1/4 of total
Reception:$500 and then $2000 one month later.

Thanks for the info. How far in advance did you pick your invitations? I am getting married in 11 months and I only have my reception site and caterer booked.

I am starting to panic that I am not doing everything soon enough. We have appointments to set up this week with everyone that I listed above but invites aren't on that list. Should it be???

Hi,
I am getting married 13 days after you and I picke d out my invites on Thusrday. You definitely have alot of time but I need everything out of the way so I can start paying things off little by little and concentrate on a home. It never hurts to start looking but I think you should start looking around Dec-Jan.

Most of my vendors wanted 20%. The florist only wanted $50.

The hall wanted $1,000 down and a $1,000 a month for 5 months. A larger amount is due in May (2 months before) and then the balance about a week before.

Hall-$1,000, but 7,500 is due Nov. 4, then another 8,500 is due Feb. 4 and then the big balance is due 2 weeks before the wedding

Vickaline you have plenty of time I have 7 months and still havent done it but the invite person i am most likely using said i was right on schedule, i plan on doing it this month.

My dj required half for deposit
Hall is in installments 1k the first, 2k the secnd 3k the third and so on....
Video was half also
Photographer was $400

Our vendors were pretty good with their deposits.
Photographer - $500
Videographer - $600
Limo - $100
Reception - $1000 down and then $1300 ever 3 months
DJ - $200

Hall - $1,000 (half of the remainder due six months before)
Photo - $650
DJ - $200
Video - $390
Dress - 1/2
Church - $450 (within two weeks of setting date)

I still need flowers, invites, limo, hair/make-up and I am nine months away. I have spent a little bit of time looking at invites, but I probably wont get too serious about it until after I have flowers, limo and BM dresses. Hoping to get all of those done this weekend when I come up to LI.

Most of my vendors were very good about taking what little money I had when I signed. Wild Rose took $50 to hold my date and gave me a little while to get the rest to them. If you are worried about the amount of deposits, ask the vendors to negotiate the intial deposit down.

If you are worried about how close your wedding is, you have time, especially for the invites. I would worry about the bigger things first.
