My mom is stuck in ancient times of wedding planning and she believes that guests should be able to take the cnterpieces home at the end of the night as a bonus favor. I told her that some places don't do that anymore, plus the vases are heavy so I can't imagine people carrying them out as they are filled with water. I'm during the 3 vases of diff. heights with a flower floating in the water and a floating candle on top as our low pieces and then a high piece containing the same floating flower in the water with white and a few blue orchids on the top, both sets have blue LEDs at the bottom of the vases with blue gems. I am about to book my florists soon and I haven't asked her if guests are allowed to take them. Has anyone asked their florist? Are your guests allowed to take the CP home?

Can guests take centerpieces home???
the vases you cant take unless you buy them yourself but some florists will let you take home the flowers if they are sitting atop a pedestol

So is my mom, but she is getting better. Ask your florist. If a florist is not picking up a vase, then your guest can take it home. If a florist needs to pick anything up, it will be an additional cost. We are having low centerpieces consisting of 3 vases, and my moms comment was, '3 people per table can take the flowers' and this was to the florist.

This is what I was thinking too. I'm not sure if the low centerpiece is made and stuck ontop of the big high vase to make it a big centerpiece. If so, then I guests can take that top piece home.

Maybe there is a MOB website and they are conversing on there... I see that happening. I told my mom that if the guests are allowed to take some pieces home (i need to comfirm with florist), they better be staying till the very end. I can't having missing centerpieces before the wedding ends.

My mom is just plan old fashion. I thought she would have a heart attack when I told the florist I wanted a light pink bouquet and not all white. Whether or not the florist needs the pieces back, make sure the maitre d knows. It will be their job and staff to make sure your wishes are followed.

Our flowers will be on a plate on top of the vase - the florist said that guests can take the big bouquet of flowers home but not the vase itself.

Not unless you paid for everything. If you are renting the vases from the florist, than no. The flowers they can probably take home. But I hate that, you already got a favor, what will you do with a bunch of flowers??? I'm not having much flowers in my centerpieces anyway, and I'm having my bouquet preserved.

I think my florist will do this too but I still need to confirm to make sure. I don't go to weddings saying, Yes!!! I can't wait to take the flowers.

usually older people take the centerpieces at all functions.
the only thing i ever took home was a bridal shower centerpiece -- because it was cute and useful. it was a flowerpot with pens made to look like flowers.

I went to a wedding recently where it was done, it was cute. I'm going to offer mine, if people want them. I don't need 22 vases left over!

Ppl still take them. I was at a wedding in October and they were taking them off the pedestals to bring home.

One thing I have seen so that there is no arguing over the centerpieces(yes, I have seen hurt feelings over this, believe it or not!) is to have everyone number off at each table and then the DJ calls out a number and each table has a winner.

Ok, my friend had the 3 piece centerpiece with flowers and floating candles. her dj forgot to announce guest can take them. so many ppl left them. as we were saying goodbye we notice the owner of flower place taking them. we then told her we were taking them all.... if ppl do not take them and you did not rent you do not have to give them back. i took my 3 and i decorate with them for every holiday!!!!!!

Oh I love that idea, then my mom would know how much each aspect of a wedding REALLY costs. LOL...I think it depends on your centerpieces and if your vases are bought or rented. If the florist is letting you rent the vases only then guests cant take them home, only the flowers.

That's good to know! I need to make sure if I'm renting them or I get to keep them at the end of the night. I'll include this with the list of ?s I have for the Florist.

Thank you so much ladies for all your insite. I will definitely ask before I book her. I'm sure with the quote I got, its just to rent them. We will see.
