when booking a photography/videography what do you ask about??

Not a dumb question! Honestly there are things that I would NEVER have thought to ask if people hadn't told me to make sure I checked about.
I actually have a doc file I can FM to you with all the questions I asked.

How many hours would they be there? Do they use film or digital How many photographers what the package includes do you get unedited video do you get all of your proofs

I just did this whole thing and I still don't have a photographer. It was VF photography their prices are wonderful but I dont like the design work he does in the albums they looked so blah and trashy, so make sure you like what you see, also a good thing to ask is if they give you a copy of a cd or disk with pictures that u can print out not just to see online, that was a really big thing for me to have the rights to the pictures without the big proof on it as well as making sure i can print the pics!

Two things to add: make sure you feel comfortable with the company you choose - remember, they will be with you practically the WHOLE day of your wedding.
Also, it was very important to me to have the rights to my pics so that later on we can reprint whatever we want. We also like digital pics because they can be manipulated in terms of color/bw/etc.
