Can I ask a question? If personal...ignore

Can I ask a question? If personal...ignore

I read that many of you ladies go off the pill yet try to 'be careful'.. is this because you want nature to take it's course? If you are being careful on purpose, why not stay on the pill?

I'm just asking because this is a debate I am having with myself lately!

Good question

I think (at least speaking for myself) when we say that, we are trying to prepare our bodies (and our minds, LOL) for when we want to OFFICIALLY TTC, you know get the extra hormones out of our system.
So we're 'careful' for a while before we start to try.

Of course, this time around I stopped the pill b/c I messed up, and now I'm late. So who knows......

I stopped the pill 3 months before we got married because we were trying right away. For the reasons that Liz stated. My AF is very regular so I was keeping track of my unsafe days till we started trying. Thank goodness I did because we conceived on the first try.

DH and I are not looking to have babies any time soon but I am off the pill.
I choose to be off the pill for many personal reasons...one of them was I didn't like what it was doing to me in general, I heard many things about contrceptives even though DR's said its not true. I feel healthier just not taking them at all.
We are being careful but if God was to Bless us with a child, it would still be a blessing to us.

I agree with Sassy... I chose to go off the pill and prepare my body for the TTC part. Not to mention the doctor advised me to clear my system at least 3-4 months prior to TTC when going off the pill. I personally decided to wait 6 months (but lastest 4) before TTC after going off the pill and we got pregnant 7 months later.

see what my debate is...

1) I was raised Catholic and feel that a baby conceived is truly a blessing from God and I would be lucky to have it...

2)If I stay on, I can control when we have one bc I would like to be financially ready and hopefully a homeowner

3) I told my mom I was still on the pill even after getting married and this was her face

confusing! I wish I was a 50s housewife!

Never tell your Mom about your sex life

I second that- I wouldn't tell mom a personal thing like that.
just my 2 cents

trust me I normally don't but I was saying how much weight I gained and I thought some of it had to do with 'Me being on the pill' ...oops open mouth insert foot.... trust me, I wasn't even allowed to say the word 'sex' growing up!

I will not go off the pill until we are 100% ready to have a child. Knowing my DH he will not use any alternate forms of birth control and I am not using a diamphram.

Also- my Doc told me I could TTC as soon as I was of BC. Said that I didn't have to clear out my system. That's fine with me.

I went off it because I don't like the way it made me feel..plus so far whatever we have been doing has been working! Next summer is when I would like to start trying....we will see!

Sassyz75 - My OB said the same thing about not needing to clear out your system. You are actually more fertile right after you stop taking bc pills.

I have been off the pill for about six months but Im not trying to get pregnant at this moment. I just didnt like the way the pill was making me feel and it was annoying as hell. We have been doing good so far using alt methods.
