Can I be mad at this??

I am getting married the same day as you and my own mother still does not have a dress

I guess I can see how you'd be upset.

My honest opinion with my own wedding is to expect diddly squat. I registered. People say they will get this or get that or give me money for this or that. Frankly I just smile and say 'great, that would be wonderful' and walk away assuming it will never happen.

If you get your gift, great, if not, who cares? She's not worth bothering yourself about. Is it hurtful? Sure it is, only if you dwell on it. Expect nothing and you'll never be disappointed. The very least you'll get a pleasant surprise.

As far as the dress goes.. I honestly have to admit I don't get that whole issue. I could care less what my stepmother or FH's mother wear that day. I only asked that they not wear the BM's color.

It's your wedding.. like another woman here said. They won't care about that person ... its You and your FH who will be the spot light.

Try not to get too upset. It will all turn out alright. It meant a lot to yuo and you definately have given her enough time. Horse to water, honey.. can't make them drink.

Try to brush it off.

Don't stress over it, it's not worth it! I'm sure she isn't planning on showing up naked to the wedding, she will find something in time! As for the shower gift - maybe she has something really terrific for you but the order got held up! In any case, these things are out of your control and no matter what the outcome, they are in no way going to spoil your wedding day. Don't worry, be happy!!

My FMIL just got her dress and my wedding is in 38 days....I wasn't worried at all....it's her dress, not mine....she's the one who has to wear it.

Don't let things like that bother you.....

Now the shower gift on the other hand......

I will tell you that I went through the same experience with my MIL. She was miserable throughout the entire process. She couldn't cared less, she was upset her 'SON' was leaving and getting married. Get a life! Well lets just say she looked like the girl from 'Willie Wonka'! She wore a PURPLE nylon pants outfit from Dress Barn accompanied by her black Easy Spirit sneakers! Yes I said SNEAKERS! She is a heavy woman (@ 265lbs, 5 foot) and looked HORRIBLE. She looked like a SLOB. Everyone commented on how terrible she looked. What did they want me to do? Once I saw her outfit and sneakers I laughed it was all I could do. I know this might sound mean but I made sure the photographer took limited pictures of her. He totally understood and took basically head shots.

The wedding is about you and your future husband. Don't let a rude, selfish, self centered person ruin your wedding.
