Hi! My mom passed away 3 years ago and as I'm planning this wedding it starts to stink that she's not around for advice and things of that nature. My FH's mom doesn't really speak english so we haven't really had any extensive mom/daughter -in -law discussions.
So I was wondering if there are any moms on here who would be willing to post some 'Motherly Advice/Wisdom' about married life, wedding planning, or anything of that nature. I think it would be cool to see what everyone has to offer Thanks in advance!~ Cheryl

Re: Can i borrow someone's mom?
Hi Cheryl, I'm so sorry your mom isn't with you to share this special time. Anything in particular that you would like input on?
The first advice I can think of may be corny, but: Don't let 'the wedding', take on a greater importance than the marriage. There will be bumps along the way, but don't let them scare you. With thought and care, you can be best friends forever.
All best wishes to you and your FH, I believe your mom is beside you all the way.

Re: Can i borrow someone's mom?
Hi Cheryl. I have to agree with Kathi do not let the wedding become more important than the marriage and enjoy every minute of your planning. The time will go so fast you won't know where it went so take your time and savour every moment of the planning and the wedding itself. We are all here to help so please do not hesitate to FM me or post any question you may have one of us will always get back to you. And as Kathi said your mom is right beside you all the way!

Hi: I'm in the same boat as you. My mom passed away 20 years ago. Even though its a long time, its still very sad and very hard to plan a wedding w/out a Mom. FH's mom does speak English, but is like a zombie and offers no help.
