Yep. I did. Heres the only piece of advice I would give you if you do that...if you decide to buy ur veil without the dress you have to make sure the veil doesnt have to much detail (this is of course if you have no idea what kind of dress you want)..because if you buy a veil with a lot of detail and then decide to buy a gown with a lot of detail..it might clash...

I said no. Simply because unless you know the color, style and formality of your dress, it is almost impossible to pick a veil. You might be able to pick a tiara, though.
Hope this helps!

i think you can pick a tiara (unless you want the pattern of the tiara to match your dress in some way)..and a simple veil...as long as the veil doesn't have patterns or anything and you know what color your dress will be then i say go for it!

I would say it probably isn't a good idea. Your veil has to match and you don't want to limit your options of what color dress to get. Also, the design in the tiara should match what design is on the dress (ex. beads, crystal, etc) You have a lot of time I would find the dress first and after the veil and tiara.

The veil has elaborate patterns. I just figured that if it clashed, I would just sell it? But now I don't know.

I'd say probably not. While I was at the store, they put a veil on me that clashed with the dress I had on (the veil was white and sparkly, and the dress was ivory), and it looked terrible. I think the dress is the more important of the two, so I'd buy the dress and then get the veil to match. If you found a veil that you want above all else, then you'd have to buy the dress to match, which you always could, but which would be more difficult.

Re: Can I buy my......
I think if you have your heart set on a Tiara go for it. Depends on what it looks like though. It if has crystals, it will probably go very well with any dress. Pearls though may be hard to match up . I wouldn't buy a veil though because the fabric and designs might not match with your dress. Now that I think about it I wouldn't really recommend buying any without the dress...LoL....sorry i'm just thinking and I have ALWAYS said that I am wearing my sister's tiara as my something borrowed. BUT i have to double check how a 'big' tiara looks wiht my dress. Anyway what i'm trying to say is you might want to hold off until you buy your dress to make sure everything goes prefect together.
I would do the tiara, but not the veil. I had a completely different image of my veil and now might go for something different

you dont even know what color, when i first went gown shopping i was not planning on getting a color other than ivory my dress is light gold satin with ivory lace over it, but an ivory veil is still too white, if i bought the veil already , i would not have known that

I would say a definite no. At first I thought I wanted a tiara, then when I realized the style of dress I like I think a tiara is a big no no. You can always find a tiara to match a dress, but not always a dress to match a tiara.

Thanx ladies for the suggestions. The prices are just so amazing. A veil and a tiara for less then $200. I'll think about it some more, but if I do buy it and it clashes or doesn't go with the dress, I'll just sell it.

I think you should wait to get your tiara & veil. When you pick your dress it will be easier to pick out coordinating pieces that have the same accents i.e. crystals or pearls. HTH
