When I was pregnant, I was told not to eat any deli meats. So I would say no. (But it sure sounds good!).

Re: can i eat....
Naturally any question you have is worth a call to the OB office, but I think they mean the processed, raw deli meats. Like Bolgna, turkey, etc.. If its the real thing (like a real cooked Roast beef) I don't see why not. My SIL lived on that. For some reason she had a craving for red meat throughout her pregnancies.
Give a call to the Dr. to be sure.....

that is kind of what I figured. Things that could have nitrates, etc. I'll call anyway though!

I have eaten a deli sandwhich from time to time. It is hard to never eat a sandwhich when you work. I think if it is a real roast beef it is fine. I mean, you can eat that at home.

I would say yes, there is nothing I haven't eaten this whole pregnancy!

My dr. suggested I follow a 'once a week' rule, as far as deli meats are concerned. I also suggest checking with your individual doctor.

As everyone said, check with your Dr., but in general the reason all deli meats should be avoided is b/c they are really not fresh and are sitting out (even though they are refrigerated) and can carry lysteria. I've read to place in the microwave until steaming hot if you want to eat them. The chances of getting Lysteria is small, but if you're pg and get it, it is dangerous.
I stayed away from a lot of things (caffeine, deli turkey) up until I was about 20 weeks or so, and I craved turkey sandwiches for a while after that, and eat them about 1x per week.
