If I decide to cancel a vendor, do they keep my deposit or not? I looked at the contract and it just said that I had to send a deposit and then pay the balance on the day of my wedding. I did not say anything about canceling. Did anyone have experience with canceling a vendor? Thanks!

I think it generally depends on the type of vendor and how close to the wedding it is. Most vendors do have a cancellation policy and fee, but if it's not mentioned in the contract, then I would phone them just to be sure. Best to be safe than sorry ........ HTH

I just switched florists and the one I cancelled said I can have the deposit back if they can re fill the date. But even if I lost it I'm not po'd. It was only $50 and my new florist came in $3000 under his quote! Just call them non chalantly and pretend you were a new bride inquiring about how deposits work. They don't need to know you're thinking of canceling.
