i chose a makeup artist but she had told me she had a three person minimum well no one wants there makeup done but me so was just going to use the salon im getting my hair done at so now i need to tell this person do you think i can get my $100 deposit back that i left with her.....im giving her 3 mos notice......waht do u think
Probably not. Most deposits are non-refundable. But it doesn't hurt to ask.
I don't know, but maybe you can say who it is and if someone else books this person get your deposit back

I agree - it doesn't hurt to ask, but don't get mad if you can't.
If you don't get your deposit back, what about having your Mom or FMIL get their makeup done?
my FMIL doesnt want to and my mom is no longer with us....the only reason i thought i could get it back is because i wont make her min
it doesn't hurt to try, right? every makeup artist is different. mine won't give the full refund back but depending on how far in advance you cancel, she will give you a percentage back. try explaining the situation to her. maybe you could work something out.
I would definitely give it a try. If she is an honest person she will return it if she gets someone else to book that day - if she doesn't - I wouldn't expect it back.
