Not into cheesy MC/Dancers etc.....I want something classy, but fun, but not to typical cheesy dances or stuff like that.

Re: Can I get some DJ recommendations.
Thanks for the recommendations. What are the average pricing for the DJ's without all the extras - dancers, toy's lights, smoke all that? I'm about to start my research and on DJ's so any tips would help.

Re: Can I get some DJ recommendations.
basic prices for 5 hours(dj and mc) are around $1300, some more some less....
high voltage sounds that jennbaby said is actually more affordable...$1050... or 4 hours for $900....
i still have to drag fh to check out dj's

Okay cool, the prices sound reasonable. It's really amazing how much everything costs....It's so much legwork too, making appointments, I'm going to check out some of these entertainment showcases by a vendor - have you been to any?

Re: Can I get some DJ recommendations.
Ours was about 1250ish for 4 hours. 1 DJ and 1 MC. They did my sis's wedding in June and it was great.

Re: Can I get some DJ recommendations.
Silly question, but what does one actually do to see DJ's? You can make an appointment to go see them I guess, but how do you actually see them at work? I live in Manhattan and it's not really convenient for me to get to Bridal showcases b/c they're usually on Tuesday eve or something. Do the DJ's have video tapes of themselves at work?
This is next up on my list of thigns to do, so I appreciate your help!

You can make an appt and go see him and his equipment. You can also see him at showcases he puts on.
I LOVED his work ethic and his selection. Very down to earth.
He's a vendor here! and i recommend him.

We are using High Enegry, no cheesy dancers, no props (they do them if you want) $900 is what we are paying
We did see video's of his work.

Re: Can I get some DJ recommendations.
This is the first thread I've seen for DJ's where I wasn't the only one using In the Mood. Makes me feel so much better even though they did a GREAT job at my sisters wedding.
