After 8 weeks of looking - I'm close to booking a hall - I was wondering if this sounds ok to you:
ceremony at the church, then drive 20 minutes to a park to take pictures, then drive 15 more minutes to the reception hall.
Is that ever done? Or does it sound like a crazy idea.

What time is the church and what time is the reception start? Depending on the time difference, some people might not go to the church. As long as you are okay with that, it sounds fine.

that sounds pretty easy to me... check this out: we live in brooklyn, we'll have the ceremony either in brooklyn or manhattan depending on where I like the priest the most, and then we have the reception in LI... it can all be done

oh yes, just make sure that you give yourself enough time in between so you dont have to rush

A friend of mine got married in a church in Medford, went to have photos done at the Oyster Bay arboritum, then had her reception in Woodbury. It's your day, as long as you are within your alotted time frame, anything goes.
