Can I pick the church time - - or is there a schedule?
We wanted a 4'oclock ceremony but was wondering if there are specific times to choose from?

Our preist let us pic the time. Our cocktail hr is at 6 so he said any where from 2-4 is good. but the earlier is better so you have time to take pics.

well alot of churches have mass so you would have to do it by a certain time, so this way you give them time to clean up and start the mass at whatever time is starts...

It depends... we were able to pick our church time but our wedding is on a Friday night, so I'm not sure if it's different for Sat. or Sun.

We picked 3:30 bc FH said they start at 5, so they had no problem with it obviously. ALso depends if there will be another wedding that day

I am getting married on a Fri night, and they told me I could pick either 5 or 6:30. I couldn't change the times.

yeah i think it depends if they have masses already scheduled (like daily masses...etc) or any other events going on...but its pretty much any time that's available/doable (at least as per our church).

i guess it is different everywhere - but at my church they let me pick the time but the saturday mass is at 5pm so i picked 3pm - i dont want people just walking in at the end of my ceremony or when i am taking pictures and this gives us plenty of time to have the ceremony and clear out!

Yup same thing here, sat mass is at 5pm, and we put down 3 or 3:30 and was surprised we got 3:30, thought they would have it by 3 the latest...I hate when people say to me, why are you leaving such a big gap in between, I HAVE NO CHOICE!!! i hate when ppl talk without knowing

I KNOW! i had no idea - i booked the church for 2:30 at first. . . THEN i went to JT and asked them for a 5:00 CH and that was when i learned they basically have set times! i had NO IDEA - but it makes sense since they have day and evening weddings. . . so now my mass is at 3pm and my CH starts at 7:30! oh well. . . i plan on attending my CH so more time for pics!

its ok though bc JT has that lobby downstairs for guests who arrive early, they have food out there for them, music and drinks served to them so thats whats good about JT.

Depends on what day of the week youre getting married on.. We are ahving ours on a friday so we were able to choose any time. But if you choose a Saturday, you might have the same day as another bride so you will have to base your time on their time. hth?
ETA- it also depends on the church as well.. I was able to pick any time I wanted.. Im sure if I wanted 3:33 he wouldve done it But it looks like some other churches have specific times...

Re: Can I pick the church time - - or is there a schedule?
I was lucky. My FH and I are the first ones to sit down with the priest to pick the time of our wedding. They do 11, 1, 3, and 5.
Here is the thing my CH is at 630 but guests can arrive at 6....should I tell them that?
I have 300 church time...not giving me much time to get to RH when Bridal parety is to arrive at 5 to take pictures and relax.
What do you all think about that?

You are getting married the week before me!! I wouldn't tell your guest to come at 6 - stick with 6:30. People come early anyway. But I think you have plenty of time for pics - unless you have a long distance from church to RH? Are you planning on stopping anywhere else?

Ceremony is in Patchogue and RH is in Westbury...I think it takes approx 35 mintues to get there but that is with me or my dad driving. I dont think the Limo will make it there that quickly.
Getting married at Westbury Manor so am hoping that there is enough spots there to take pics.
What do you think? Ceremony 3-4 bridal party pics at Westbury begin at 5. I did want to go to a park or something but I dont think that I will have the time.

It depends on the church if they have service or anything going on in the sanctuary at that time. if not u can have the wedding at anytime
