does anyone know if i can return something to banana republic if I washed it and it was dry clean only?
It's so stupid because I had almost the same exact shirt in another color, which is washable, so I just assumed this one was too.... but when I took it out of the wash it was really wrinkly and I got worried so I let it air dry and brought it to the dry cleaner and they're going to iron it, but they told me it's never going to be the same anyway.
Do you think I should try to return it to Banana Republic? All I want is to exchange it for the same thing or get store credit. . . Anyway do this before?

As long as you can make it look presentable, I definately think you can get away with making an even exchange with it. I know that Old Navy will pretty much take anything back, so I'm sure Banana Republic's return policy is somewhat similar. I would give it a shot anyway. What's the worst thing that could happen? They say 'No'?

Yup, I've done it-- but I dont think I admitted I washed it just in case they wouldnt take it back

I agree. Although it *****...you ruined it...and I would feel guilty as hell returning something I damaged and acting like it wasn't my fault. I would just buy something new to replace it and live with it. Just my opinion!!

Why don't you call/email customer service. Tell them what happened, how you're a very good banana customer and you're very dissapointed. Maybe corporate will refund your money, or send you a gift certificate or something.

When I worked in JCrew during high school people would return jeans that were years old because the zipper broke! And JCrew takes them back. I would admit that you washed it, but say you had the exact same shirt before and had different results and now it is unwearable.
