can i see how your outer envelopes were addressed?

this is driving me nuts in Excel.

so is it:

Mr. & Mrs. Joe Schmo
address

Mr. Joe Schmo
Mrs. Joe Schmo
address

(for married)

now single:

Mr. Joe Schmo & Guest
address of Joe

Mr. Joe Schmo
Ms. So and So
address of Joe

Mr & Mrs Joe Schmo if married

Mr. Joe Schmo & Guest if you don't know the name of the guest

Ms. Betty Boop If you know the name of the guest or if they have separate last names...like I have a married couple who go by different last names, I did this for them

we did:

Mr & Mrs Joe Schmo (married)

Mr Joe Schmo & Ms. Jane Doe (if they're together but not married)

Mr. Joe Schmo & Guest (if we didnt know who they were bringing)

we also didnt have inner envelopes, idk if that makes a difference

Normally I do Mr. & Mrs. last name... or Mr. XX & guest...

I did:

Mr & Mrs Joe Schmoe

Mr. Joe Schmoe & Guest

Mr. Joe Schmoe
Ms. Jane Smith
123 abc street

If I was inviting with kids, I did 'The Schmoe Family'

I have outer and inner envelopes...

For married:
Outer: Mr. and Mrs. Joe Schmo
address
Inner: Mr. and Mrs. Schmo

For non married:
Outer: Mr. Joe Schmo
address
Inner: Mr. Joe Schmo and Guest

Family:
Outer: Mr. and Mrs. Joe Schmo
address
Inner: The Schmo Family

do you have to be fancy and even use Mr. or Ms. if they are NOT married?

I understand using Mr. and Mrs. Joe Schmo for the married couple but for a single person or a single and their date do you still need to use the titles?

is it just a formal thang?

For single, together not yet married folks.

Yes. the titles are a formal thing...

If you were not involved it would be:
