Can I steam a veil?

My FMIL gave me her veil to use and its full, 3 tiered and elbow length. It's 30 years old, still white (whoa) but wrinkled/bunched up.

Can I hang it up in the bathroom, run hot water and steam it? I'd like to see it straightened out.
