Or no because we are technically not married yet at that point??? I just want to use the letter of my soon to be last name.... can I or should I just use our first initals if I am going to do it?

I am going to say no.. And only for this reason-- we recently got a thank you card from another engaged couple the other day.. They already had stationary that had both their names on it- only first.. I told my mom about it, as we are currently finalizing invitations and other misc. wedding/married life stationary-- she said it was not right to do that, to have joint stationary before you are married.. Anyway-- my mom is like an Emily Post of sorts.. so you see how this would maybe be similar..
I think for your program though- you can use both your first names.

I hope you can because that is what i plan to do! By the end of the ceremony YOU WILL BE MARRIED! I LOVE the monogram look, so elegant! I say GO FOR IT

Go for it. I think monograms can look outstanding. I wouldn't worry about the technicality of not being married. A lot of people put monograms on their invitations anyway and they usually look great. The last wedding I went to had a double sided program with a monogram on the front top and it looked very elegant.

Ours did have a mongram and they were really stunning. They were custom made with special paper, engraving, and ribbon from Crane's and their etiquette guru said that while it was not appropriate to use a mongram until that point, for the wedding ceremony; it was fine. I honestly would not have had it any other way.
