Can I ...would it be horrible if...

Can I ...would it be horrible if...

I have this friend for years now..She has always had self esteem issues and let guys walk all over her. Her current BF is a total waste of space and air and she chases him around pathetically...

She is one of those friends who only calls when she needs something..specifically when she is feeling suicidal when her bag of poop BF decided for the millionth time he does not want to be with her anymore...I mean she calls and it is a drama...crying screaming vomiting etc...

She did not go to my eparty b/c it happened to be one of those weekends that he decided he did not love her anymore and she could not handle seeing me blissfully happy...(direct quote) not to mention she left my bday party early for the same reason after dragging me into the bathroom to cry for 20minutes..

so we got into it today and she said i am asking to much of her bc I called her out on how she does not call, email or even text to check in after these dramas and she disappears until the next one...

which leads me to the question....
I already sent her the SAVE THE DATE..but I am done to be honest. At this point in my life I wan to simplify and it;s obvious she could care less about what she is doing to me or our friendship..can I just not invite her to the wedding...???? should I tell her she's not invited or just let it die quietly???

Exactly... well put!

IF she calls you... screen it and listen to her message. If its all about her... DONT call her back.
But if she is actually calling to see how you are then I would call her.

Sorry you have to deal with this BS!

From your post it seems like she has no regard for you and she's only thinking about herself. It also looks like the drama's not ending anytime soon. As a friend, she should put her feelings aside about her problems and be happy for you. You shouldn't have to deal with this on the happiest day of your life.

I'm so sorry to hear this! I personally would leave it alone and not mention the wedding or anything. Maybe she'll call down the line when she realizes she hasn't received an invitation, but if she's that preoccupied with her unstable relationship, chances are she's too wrapped up in herself to even notice.

just don't pay attention to her. leave it as it is. don't bother with her unless she changes. if she doesn't change by the time the wedding comes, just don't bother inviting her.

I would just let it die quietly- She will get the hint when the invite does not arrive.

I have a few people in my life like that, and I too am sick of it! I am so happy that im busting at the seams and I feel like I can't show it cause Im afraid of offending them!! UGH! I hate that!

Let it die, its going to be a big deal if you tell her not to come. If anything maybe she won't show up.

i dno... she sounds a little loony but chances are she does not even realize it.

I'd send a courtesy invite anyway but don't make attempts to call her etc... maybe she won't come anyway. If she tries to drag you into drama at the wedding (which then you will REALLY know she's insane) simply don't let her and ignore it.

As someone whose been in this situation been before I would recommend just letting it die. It will probably make things a lot worse by telling her she's uninvited. I would just let it play out and see how things go as it gets closer to the wedding. But don't worry too much about it.. if she keeps coming and going in your life then she will not notice if you just let it die.

A Save the Date does not mean if things change you have to invite someone. She knows that things have changed, and given her attitude toward your happiness, I don't picture your Save the Date displayed prominently on her fridge anyhow.

Let it die, and don't invite her, unless by the time your invites go out there is a turnaround in your relationship.
