Can nuetering a dog make him different? Updated.

Ever since we took Chewie home from nuetering last week he has been crazy! He runs around and tries to bite us and has this crazy look in his eyes like hes ready to attack. He gets like this mostly at night. He also used to go to sleep at 6-7pm every night and is now up til like 9pm biting. What the heck is going on? He is definitely different since we took him home.

ETS..He wasn't biting before we brought him. He was alot calmer before also.

I guess it was a weird coinsidence cause he seems back to his normal, mushy self.

from what I heard, nutering is supposed to make a dog more calm.

I know that my dog went through a weird spell for a week where it was like she was going backwards, not forwards- acting more like a naughty puppy.

Maybe that's what Chewie is going through right now. If so, it should pass.

I have heard that it can but I have always heard that it would calm a dog not make him bite Maybe his body is still adjusting to the anthestia. If you are concerned definitely call your vet and ask if he can grow out of it. Are you sure he is not getting ready to loose his puppy teeth and that the time is not just coincidential?

Thanks girls! I called the vet and they said it could be him getting his teeth in and its just a coinsidence. He lost his teeth already so maybe they are coming in now? It also could be a reaction the the anesteshia (what we thought) and he will get better soon. Sassy, It is exactly like what you described. He is going backwards. Hopefully it passes soon.
