In a Roman Catholic Church do you have to cover your shoulders or can you have them exposed? If you know please let me know b/c I dont want to have to have a jacket or something.

it depends on the parish. in mine you can, but i didn't have a strapless dress anyway, so it didn't matter. Definitely call your parish though and ask.

Ask you parish, mine did not require you to cover your shoulders...some still do tho

I didn't ask and they didn't tell me to make sure to cover up. In my church it was fine, but my friend's church, right before she walked down the aisle someone came to put a white shawl over her because her dress was strapless!

i'd have to say that here i've never seen a bride have covered shoulders in church.. i would just ask the parish..
if this was italy then yes..

When my FH parents got married she had to cover her shoulders it was a rule back in the day. I don't think they enforce that anymore.

not that i know of...but i would call your parish to be sure!
my church never said anything, and i'd rather not ask. haha i don't want them to say cover up!! lol

The church where FH wanted and where his sister got married will not allow bare shoulders.

It is very odd in this day in age to have a RCC tell you your shoulders need to be covered (at least on LI).
Call to confirm but I don't think they will tell you you have to.

I know some churches will allow the bride to have bare shoulders but ask that the BM's not. Definitely call your parish and ask.
