how time share works...in simple terms? I feel like a moran...here's the scoop my aunt has a timeshare ( rather new she tried to explain it to me but I'm still lost ) that she would let us use it for part of our HM. Which is great but I just need to know:
1- How far in advance I should look into it? We are probably going to go to Italy for 1 week and then bora bora for the next week. Time share will be used in Italy.
2- Is it like placing a bid...first come first serve?
3- This doesn't include the flight,right?
Any other info will be greatly appreciated.

Trade it in ASAP... you will be placed on like a waiting list for whatever hotels/areas you choose
And no flights included... Usually no food either

My parents have a time share in a condo in St. Maarten. They basically 'own' the place for 2 weeks out of the year. I don't know if there are different concepts of timeshares, but that's what they have. I don't know anything about like trading it in, not sure what that means.

Well it depends on where the TS is... if you wanna go to that place where the home resort is, then thats not a problem...you just go the week that they own it for.... othewise, you look through the timeshare book at all the different places and hotels and trade your fam's TS for a different place..

Ohhhh, very good to know!!! I will have to ask my parents about this...it would be great to be able to use their time share for somewhere else.
