Can someone explain something to me? Phone #related

Some guy KEEPS calling my house. DAILY. It is harrasment right now. He speaks Spanish. The # on my caller ID is 7-726-6603. How could that be? Where would that be from? I thought it was a mistake but thats how it always comes up. What do I do? Call my phone company and ask them to block it?

I would call the phone company. We had a weird situation where our phone was receiveing calls to a 1-800 number. It was actually for Proactive and people would leave these weird messages about where was their order and stuff, and when I actually answered myself, and told them they had the wrong #, they told me they had called a 1800#. Very weird. Somehow a line must have gotten crossed so we called the phone co. and they said they'd fix it.

Of course, then they didn't, so for a while, we started telling people to call the 800# to get us for free but we did finally get it resolved and stopped getting the calls.

It looks to me like it is a number from out of the country. I am sure if you called the phone company they could tell you which one, but I don't know what else they would do.

Well I called Optimum Voice and the guy had no idea why it would come up 8 #s but he put a # block on my phone. He said private #s would have to dial *82 before they dialmy # and their full name and # will come up. I just hope this works.

Thanks ladies. I just thought 8 #s was very odd!

Amy weird, b/c Friday I had a call from (it looks like) Korea, now that I looked it up. WTH is going on?!

Thank God were not being charged for them calling us at least! I was a little upset that Optimum Voice told me they could nto just block one phone #.

Just so you know, I have a private number and still some numbers come up 'unknown caller' on my caller ID. It really ***** but I have no idea how to block that, too.

Its not unlisted, but private #s can not call me unless they dial *82 and they my phone #. If they call regular they get a recording saying you must dial *82 first. I will never get something saying private caller.

I can just say the guy hasnt called today!

thats strange. usually international numbers show up as unknown. maybe optimum is different.

He may be calling from overseas but regardless that's annoying to have to deal with...I would report it to the phone company and request that number be blocked.

That happened to my mother but the phone company didn't do anything to help her. When you would call her number, it would go to a gaming company in Washington state called Wizards of the Coast. It was very frustrating - she wound up changing phone companies - but the weird thing is that her phone # (631) was totally different from the Wizards one - besides her # not being an 800 #.
