Yup. that's all it is really. A trunk show (depending on the designer) shows off the new line of gowns, and you get a discount on the gown if you order it that day. the discount ranges from about 10-15%

yeah trunk shows are at a store, its not an actual show or anything. For example one of the well known bridal stores, kleinfelds, bridal reflections, adrienne's or whatever will have a trunk show...You go there the way you normally would to try on dresses, but that day there might be a trunk show, meaning the designer might be there, they'll just walk around and talk to ppl trying on their designs, and if you decide to buy that designers dress you get about 15% off.

that's kinda cool though that someone was there!
I went to Helen's for a Maggie show and all they had there was a model who was too skinny to fit in the samples! It was crazy and a few brides actually left in tears because the girl was so small the gowns didnt look the same on 'real people'

LoL NO! She knew nothing! I actuallly think Helen's hired her, not Maggie... it was weird.

i got my gown at a maggie sottero trunk show at lestan's in brooklyn

no one from the company was there, but i got 15% off my gown

I think it would have been great, if she'd been a size 8. because even though i'm no where near a size 8, she'd at least have looked like the magazines....
but she was so tiny they had to clip the backs of the gown to make it fit, and it looked silly.

that's kind of disappointing...i just read on the maggie site that they are having a trunk show at helen's the 27th-29th..but that makes me kind of iffy about it! But i really do love her dresses so the discount may be great!
