Can someone help me with direction/map inserts???

I need to make direction/map inserts for my DIY invites but no matter how hard i try I can't seem to be able to do it! Can someone help me out??!! Is anyone able to do it for me? I don't seem to have the necessary programs to do it. Or can i do it on Microsoft Word?? I tried to follow the directions i found on theknot.com bio but it's not working. Help me please~!

Can you call the place where you're having your reception? Sometimes, they have directions already made out to put in the invitations, my hall did.
