Can someone help me with my Cable?

How do I set it up so I can tape something and watch something else. I bought a three way switch but I'm not sure how to set uo. I'm so unintelligent in this area! Any help would be greatly appreciated!

if your current connection is cable box to vcr to tv then the easiest way to do this is to:
1st: split the main cable connection w/ 2 way splitter
Run a new wire from the 1 side of the 2 way split to the cable in on the cable box

Now take the wire from the the back of the TV (which goes also goes to vcr out) and put that on side A of the the A/B switch. Side A is now done.

Now run a wire from the other side of the 2 way split directly to side B of the A/B switch. Now side B is done

Finally run a wire from the middle connector on the A/B switch to the back of the TV where it was connected before you did all this.

And your done.
Set what on side A and press B to watch what you want.

**The only down side to this is you can't watch anything that requires a box to watch. Which I guess is'nt that big of a deal.
