can someone please

explain to me how the whole A list B list thing works.....FH wants to invite some of the parents of his friends to the wedding but we alos want to try and keep numbers down..someone mentioned the whole list thing but im not sure how it works...please help

the A list are people who are absolutely 100% invited. You send out their invitations first. If people from the A list respond saying they can't make it, you start inviting people from the B list

well first you send out the invites for those on the A list, then when you start getting rsvps back and get the no's you invite people in their place from the B list...Just be careful how you do this bc you dont want people from the B list finding out, they might get offended

this is what i was worried about....i just feel like this whole thing is spinning out of control...i wanted a smal wedding just close friends and family....and everyone has someone who we just have to invite...my FIL's esp.....and FH wants to invite the world...i would love for everyone we know to come...but im the one who worries about the money and everything else...e just flies by the seat of his pants

yeah if you do this you have to send out the a list invites way ahead of time, to give enough time for them to respond, then being able to send out b invites and giving them enough time to respond...If you send it to them and they see its like a week or two before the rsvp date they might get the point ya know.

PLUS people are horrible with RSVP's...trust me for my e-party it was a mess...we had people RSVP no then the last week and even days before they called to say they were coming after all, so that might suck if you sent out an invite to a b list person in place of that one, then that one decides to come bc now u have extra ppl. Youll also have ppl who rsvp yes but dont show but this wont screw up the b list thing, only that u couldve invited someone in their place

I had some people who i am not joking RSVP yes then no yes then no 7 times, someone else about 3-4, a few others who did a couple of times...Its hard to do this...Plus some people wait until the last day to rsvp and even do it after the rsvp date, trust me its hard to avoid this

i know......the whole RSVP thing is a nightmare....why cant people just do it....i always rsvp as soon as i get my invite......or as soon as i know if i can make it or not

if you do this, definitely give yourself enough time. nothings worse than getting an invite and knowing you were totally on the B list!

im thinking that im gonna send my A list out super early ...but then again my friend is getting married next month and he told me that he sent out 280 invites to A and B at the same time and he only has 180 coming he wont make his 200 guarantee ..so i may send everything out at one time ..it's so nerve wracking
