Can someone PLEASE tell me WHY at 27 years old....

I HAVE GRAY HAIR!!!!! I swear my roots are coming in GRAY and OMG there is just sooooo much of it. I was just playing with my hair in the mirror and realized how much there really was!! I am only 27, WHY!!!!!!!!

You're not alone.

I got my first 2 grays at 18. I've just pulled them out ever since.

But, I couple weeks ago, I noticed 2 more, and this morning I noticed that 2 of my hairs, which are long and brown, have a 1 inch gray root. (I don't color my hair. Usually they say that a hair shaft goes gray AFTER the hair falls out and it starts to regrow, but that is not always the case)

So, now I'm pulling out hairs because of a gray root.

i am 35 years old and i have gray hairs popping up! I told Dh that he is making my hair gray.

Thats the thing, I have dark hair so it REALLY shows up!! My little brother is 24 and he has had a lot of gray hair since he was like 16. It STINKS!!! I know my dad had a full head of gray by the time he was like 18. I HATE IT!! Now I have to go dye it tonight!!

I've been pulling them too. I called DH before and said I was haveing a Pluckfest!! But there are just too many now!!! DH laughed and told me I am going to have a full head of gray in two months because I am plucking it!!

I've had grey hair since 12 or so. I'm 26 now, and it would be noticable if I didn't have my hair dyed and highlighted every few months. Are you Irish? I am, and I think the Irish tend to get grey hair earlier.

I found my first grey hairs at 17. All through college my friends loved pulling it out, I started to dye it with the over the counter stuff but it really didn't cover well over the years of more greys coming. I am 29 now, and I have to go every 5 weeks to get my hair dyed at a salon. If I grew my hair out, I bet I would be more than 60% grey!! My sister who is two years older than me has yet to find a grey hair!!!!

I'm sorry. I feel your pain! I started at 26 and judging by my roots, I'm done for! My Mom was completely gray at 34, so I guess I'm not doing too badly.

I just had my hair dyed..not permanent hair dye but a rinse and there are two patches, right above my ears that are gray. My hairdresser said that wirey (sp), gray hairs will not take the color. She cut them really close to my scalp because she says it's better to cut then to pull them out. Whatever, I'm still going to sit in the mirror and pull them out.

27 and you are getting grey I started at 25 as soon as I started teaching!!! The whole front it's awful!!!

DH is 27, but he's had a smattering of gray hair since he was 25!

Oh goodness, I'm 35 now and I cannot remember when I DIDN'T HAVE GREY HAIR

I think I started getting them at 21, but I would pluck them also. Now its SO BAD that there is no other way to cover it except coloring every month!
