Can someone proofread this for me?

Please look for any errors, and let me know if it makes any sense. TIA!!

Lasso
As part of the ceremony to symbolize unity, a lasso is placed in a figure eight shape (eternity symbol) around the shoulders of the couple after they have exchanged their vows. The lasso not only symbolizes eternal love, but also the strong “bond” of love the couple shares with each other

Thirteen Coins

The thirteen coins are given as a gift from the groom to the bride. They are blessed by the priest and hold good wishes for prosperity. The number thirteen represents Jesus Christ and his twelve apostles. These coins hold special significance since it is a family heirloom that was originally used in the bride’s parents wedding.

I would maybe change this part to:

These coins hold special significance since they are a family heirloom that were originally used in the bride’s parents wedding.

Other than that it looks good. I have never heard of these traditions before. They are a very nice touch!

It sounds great!

I would just switch the words you have in parentheses 'eternity symbol' 'figure eight'.
I think figure eight should be in the parentheses since you are describing the eternity symbol.

Just a suggestion!

I would change the second paragraph as follows:

The thirteen coins are a gift from the groom to the bride. They are blessed by a priest and hold good wishes for prosperity. The number thirteen represents Jesus Christ and his twelve apostles. These coins hold special significance since they are family heirlooms, originally used by the bride’s parents in their own wedding.

Hope this is helpful, and these both sound like lovely traditions!

I would also use their Spanish names...maybe in parentheses after the English word...so

Lasso (Lazos de Amor)

Thirteen Coins (Arras)

So that people know their historic name.

If you are looking for input, I don't think what you have is incorrect, but I think it is better if you add say...

but also the strong 'bond' of love that the couple shares with one another

You had:

The lasso not only symbolizes eternal love, but also the strong “bond” of love the couple shares with each other

I would change shares to share since the bond of love is singular in this sense.
