no joke, i don't know what you girls felt in LI, but it NYC, my building was straight up swaying from side to side. my desk moved to the side, i rolled across the room in my chair and had to stop myself by hanging on to a wall all the while the over head lights fell around me.
honestly, its not really funny - regardless of how strong or light an earthquake can feel.
plus the phones weren't working and i wasn't able to get in touch with DH, my sister or my mother all who work in NYC

I work in Syosset LI and it felt bad... I was in the offive and starting shaking badly too....
I was the FIRST one to run out of the WHOLE building.. everyone was just looking like wats going on... but then again i guess cuz ive been into earthquakes already......


I coudlnt get in touch with mommy/daddy/brother ... i got with my fiancee then i was shaking a lot n crying so im with u....

yep my building was shaking i posted that on fb and then i found out it was an earthquake..i looked at my coworker and was like did u feel that my chair was kinda jumping up i was like *** and the water tower near our building was moving like crazy....scary def..but the fire marshall said we are ok no damage

I'm on the 21st floor in Manhattan and we didn't feel anything either...granted it did coincide almost perfectly with the liquid nitrogen tanks rolling down the hall, and those do cause the whole floor to shake.

FH said his desk shifted, Dad (in Massachusetts) said the house shook, and apparently the OR (operating room) on the 3rd floor of my building had stuff fall off the walls/shelves.

I work on the 28th Floor and I was actually out to lunch and felt NOTHING......

I missed it too!!!!

I was at Social Security with my dad. We were sitting there waiting for my number to be called and thought the lady behind us was kicking the chair. The building was swaying and we were on the 5th floor. They made everyone evacuate the building. I wanted to stay since I was 3 numbers away from legally changing my name! I waited an hour! Now I have to go back tomorrow. Not happy!

I was on the 2ndfloor of work in ronkonkoma, the whole building started swaying back and forth. We ran down the stairs and as we were running the fire alarm went off and the fire dept came and we were evacuated for over an hour. Fire dept finally cleared us to go back in.

I wss so scared!
