Re: Can we talk about mattresses?

Last July (2003). We worked with a middle-aged woman with blond hair.

It's a pretty firm bed. No pillowtop or anything. It's one degree below cement, LOL - joking ... but it's firm!

Re: Can we talk about mattresses?

Ok Dh and I have no luck with mattresses! We are on our 3rd bed in 4 years.

We bought a queen Simmons beauty rest, the mattress was defective. Sleepys replaced it for us and we upgraded to a king. The same thing happened again! They replaced it again but this time they let us go with a diff brand. We bought a Sealy pillow top. We just got it about a month ago.

I hope this one lasts!

I would def shop around. If I had to do it again I don't think I would have bought at sleepys.

Re: Can we talk about mattresses?

We have a Simmons Beauty Rest king ultra pillow top, blah blah ... it was $2400!
from Sleepy's ...

But it has that motion separator cr@p which I felt was important since DH is twice my size ... I was getting tired of flying two feet up in the air when he would get into bed or getting seasick when he'd roll over

Re: Can we talk about mattresses?

We bought a Stearns & Foster - 'C' Series.

Depending on the store you shop .. Rockaway Bedding, Sleepy's, etc .. the style name will change, but have the same first letter .. which is why I say 'C' series.

We shopped at various Sleepy's and Rockaway Beddings .. and I didn't feel comfortable with anyone we spoke with .. so .. having been most disappointed with Sleepy's .. we marched into a Rockaway Bedding, and said this is what we want .. we didn't give the guy any time to start messing around and playing games.

If I recall correctly, I believe the cost of the mattress and matching box spring was just over $1000.

(We had one salesman (from a Sleepy's) trying to sell us a boxspring from a different set .. I'm sure it would have been fine .. but I'm sorry .. I'd much prefer to have the matching set, thank you .. and I prefer a salesperson who respects my desires).

Re: Can we talk about mattresses?

My mattress is amazing. We bought it at sleepys in commack about a year ago. It was about 1300- worth every penny.

It is a kingsdown pillowtop. It has the pillow top on both sides.

Re: Can we talk about mattresses?

We have a select comfort mattress because DH oves to sleep on soft as can be and I need a nice hard firm mattress.
It cost just over 1k and we have had it for about a year and half and we both love it.

Re: Can we talk about mattresses?

We got ours from 1800Mattress (oops, should I have left off the last 's' for 'savings' ) in Carle Place. It's THE most comfortable bed--pillow top and all. It was $1100 for a queen size.
