My mom was going through a box of old photos today and folded inside was a copy of my parents' wedding contract from 1979. They paid $25.95 per person at a place that was considered very high end at the time. I was in shock. We couldn't stop laughing at how times have changed so much!

Wow! That's amazing, nowadays that's more like the cost of the invitation with postage...hahah jk jk! Luckily, its not THAT bad..
Maybe its because of things like that that my family and future in-laws seem to have no idea how expensive things cost and think i'm exaggerating about everything!! FMIL told me her dress was around 100 bucks!!

I think FH would be happy if ours cost that much now... he just doesn't understand why it's so expensive here. I think that could still cover it in NC....

My mom had a 150 person wedding at the Thatched Cottage in 1971 and paid $3,000 for the WHOLE THING!!!!!!!!!

When me and FH got engaged, FFIL offered to pay half of the wedding, and we were like umm you do realize how much that is right? and he was like 'what it cant be that bad, your mother and I only paid $20something dollars at villa victa (now north ritz club) when we got married' I nearly peed myself lol. We had to sit him down and have a talk with him after that lol.
