Can you buy just one BM dress from a salon? Do you have to get alterations?
I found a dress I want to wear to my RD dinner but it is only avaibale in a wedding salon. Can I just buy one dress from them and do I have to get or pay for alterations? TIA

I don't see why not. Some people just have a maid of honor and that is it. I can't see anyone who would turn away business. And if they did, then you shouldn't be shopping there. And as for alterations, I am sure you can take the dress with you.

You can also try ordering the dress from bridesave.com or netbride.com. That will save you some $$$.

yes you can buy just one...my VERY pregnant BM picked her own dress from a different place than the rest of my BM and had her alterations done there (she had to have alterations due to the pregnancy)

Sure!!! Wedding Salon of Manhasset offers 20% off the dress if you DON'T get your alterations there BECAUSE they are so busy!

Off the top of my head I know that David's Bridal will sell you just one BM's dress, and you do not have to have them touch it (no alternations) when it comes in

Just make sure you order it well in advance... even though you are only getting one it still may take awhile for it to come in.

Sure. I got my prom dress from a bridal shop, and as someone said, some people have just a MOH.

Check if Here Comes the Bridemaid in Great Neck carries what you want. We compared a lot and we found their prices the best. They don't offer alterations on their dresses at all so you won't have that problem. Irene is doll there and does her very best to fit you correctly. You do need to call for an apt. first because their hours aren't always consistent.

Allison! I love that picture of Chris!!! How cute. I'm sure you can buy just one dress from a wedding salon, and you won't have to get alterations there. Do you have a picture of the dress?

Yes you can. I only have a MOH so we had to order just one dress and it wasn't a problem.
