Can you help with ideas for My Mom's 50th birthday in Oct

OK so my mom turns 50 this coming up Oct.

But Oct is a hectic time for us. I have my shower (which I think is the day before my birthday so Oct 12th). Then my birthday is Oct 13th and then my mom's 50th birthday is Oct 14th!! Yes very busy weekend. So I dont think we can get away with a party or anything. Because well my dad stinks at planning things so I would be the one planning and it's a little hard while working/school/wedding planning etc.

So....what are some other good ideas for my mom's 50th??? She definitely deserves the best because well she does a lot for our family. My dad is horrible with planning like I said so he asked for my help. I said maybe go away but anyone know anywhere good. Remember it can't be for too too long because I also have a 10 yr old brother home who I can watch but not all the time since I go to class at night etc.

Thanks girls I was thinking Spa day as well....but my dad bought a message as part of my mom's christmas present last year and she still has not used it

We don't think she is into that stuff!! haha weird you would think she would like that a little stress reliever IDK

but a night in the city would be nice seeing a play and doing dinner. I will suggest that thanks!!!

I posted above...but unfortunately my mom doesn't like massages and all that good pampering for some reason but thanks for the idea!! I wish she did like that stuff

but i was telling my dad to take her away, they went to Florida Keys for my mom's 45th and to Vegas for my dad's 50th so I said go away again!! but where??!!!???

maybe rent a limo for her and your dad, get tickets to a broadway show (I heard jersey boys is a good one), and pay for dinner somewhere near the theater.

what about a weekend out east, or a gift card to travelocity and they can talk together about where to go? I know you said it can't be for long - there are so many nice places nearby - mystic, the casinos in ct, new hampshire, rhode island, the berkshires -- and a travelocity gift card would allow her to decide where she wants to go, and when!

What if you planned a cruise for the whole family -- maybe after the wedding -- a postponed gift? Even if it is a three or four night one.

I also suggest dinner and a show and maybe a room in the city.

DH and I stayed at the Millenium Hotel near Broadway and it was really nice...

thanks Jenn I will definitely suggest all these things to my Dad. My mom does love seeing plays so that is a good idea!!

that would be alot of fun...but i have a feeling for her 50th she wants to GET AWAY from us kids haha havinf 6 kids is crazy and I think my mom deserves a break from it haha but I am looking into a 3-5 night cruise for them in maybe late Oct/early Nov
