The other day i got a call from my place that I ordered my gown from, and they told me that they are closing down, the owerner is moving to Isreal....and that i would have to have my dress for June...well im getting married in Sept., and dont want to have my dress 3 months before the wedding, what if I need to have alterations done to it? So now I have to call back the place tomorrow and they are going to see what they could do for me....as far as how much they can take off the remainding cost of the dress that I owe them, since I have to bring it elsewhere for alterations....this really stinks! But I knew that something would go wrong, since everything has been going so smothly so far with this wedding planning. Just thought that I would vent, and see if anyone else got there dress from Charmet in Bayside Queens and is having this issue

Yuppity yup, I am floating in the same boat and was told that one of the seamstresses will be working out of her house after June. When I go in April 5, I will talk to the women there to see what they are going to do, but I feel you...I wanted to strangle the woman who said, 'Don't be stressed.' I actually dealt with this issue with no problems until she said that..haha...good luck and let's keep eachother posted!

Well ladies, today I spoke to another seemstress that im going to bring my dress to....The company that she is with is Bridal Elegance, and she told me that if another seemstress touches the dress before she does then she dont want to touch after that....so what I decided to do is call up Charmet and tell them that I would like to have my dress today, and to subtract the money that they were charging me for the alterations and work that I am getting done on my dress....they did, and I picked up my dress after work....I will be bringing it to Bridal Elegance this weekend to have the work done to it. One other thing that I found out about the seemstress, by googling reviews about Charmet online....some people are saying that she is not that good at what she does, so please ladies be aware of this.....you may want to concider taking your dress and bringing it else where to get the alterations done. They were also saying how the workers there have bad attitudes. And to be honest with you I so didnt like the way that they handled this whole situation with my dress....I had a hard time getting them to take a decent amount off my bill for the inconvienience. Glad you got everything straightened out..I am trying not to stress it too much, and not think about it until I have spoken with Amelia, who I heard and read great things about. I agree that they handled this very poorly, but luckily for others, they are going out of business I guess..congrats on getting it all together! Thanks for the update!
