Can You Please Recommend Officiant?

Hi ladies,

My FI and I are looking for an officiant for our wedding...someone with a great personality and warm demeanor. We don't belong to any particular faith as we are both non-religious, however, my FI's family is Catholic.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Re: Can You Please Recommend Officiant?

I highly recommend Father Tom McCormick. He is a RC Priest, but left the 'church' due to a man made law...he'll explain.

Anyway he is wonderful. My FI and I feel so incredibly lucky to have him officiate our wedding. I'm not even sure how to explain except that you will see if you meet him. We e-mailed many, but knew immediately Father Tom was the one. We were getting canned e-mails from others...even ones with stupid smiley faces...come on! We want someone to officiate our wedding not be a clown! So strange! Others almost seem cult like...

I believe he is a 'vendor' on LI Weddings. We highly recommend him!

Good luck!!!

Re: Can You Please Recommend Officiant?

Thanks a lot. Recommendations are so important. I'll definitely look for Father Tom on this site. Can you send me an FM on what the donation fee would be? Thanks so much!

Re: Can You Please Recommend Officiant?

We used Pastor Mike who is a vendor on here. He was wonderful and I'm so glad we used him. This is from my review:

Officiant – Pastor Mike Cassara – A++
This man is very nice and extremely organized. He gave a packet filled with readings, vows and possible extras for the ceremony that we could choose from. He gave us a complete copy of his standard ceremony and asked us to go through it and mark up what we liked and didn’t. When I e-mailed him all my notes, he sent back a revised copy of exactly what our ceremony would be. We gave him our marriage license a week before the wedding. He likes to have it to bring to make sure that we don’t forget it on the day of. He showed up about 45min before the ceremony to go over everything with everyone and helped get us organized when we were a little all over the place. He was loud and clear and spoke well at the ceremony. A lot of people throughout the night said they really liked the ceremony. He must have immediately mailed out the signed license after the wedding, because our marriage certificate from the town clerk was already sitting at the house when we got back from our honeymoon. I’m very happy we were married by Pastor Mike.

Re: Can You Please Recommend Officiant?

We are using Monsignor Jim Lisante from St. Thomas the Apostle in West Hempstead. My fiance and I met with him this saturday for the first time and he was amazing. I was so nervous, but there was nothing to be nervous about.

He is doing a catholic ceremony outside of the church b/c we are an interfaith couple.

FM if you want more details.

Re: Can You Please Recommend Officiant?

We are having FI's best buddy perform the ceremony... had him ordained online... surprisingly easy and legit. If you're not concerned with any religious affiliations being represented at your wedding, this might be an option to consider.
