FH owns a tux but not a vest. Can you rent JUST a vest? Does that make sense? Probably wouldn't be that much to buy, right?

Re: Can you rent certain pieces of a tux?
I guess you could. Wouldn't hurt to call a few places...they are 'rental companies' right? It definitely might be cheaper to buy a vest though...
edited to add....sorry if that is confusing. I meant you probaby could rent one, but it may be cheaper to buy it....

Yes, you can definitely rent just the vest. DH has a tux, so we rented the vest and tie. It was definitely less expensive than just buying one. We ended up going to Wedding Plaza in Floral Park, and it was like $30 for vest and tie

They definitely do. We checked there too (and I think it was even less than where we got it - maybe $20?), but DH didnt like any of the ones they had there.

I guess if all you needed was the vest I don't see why not! Can you call them to find out?

Do you remember if they had just a plain black satin one?
FH wants to wear a bowtie but I want him to wear a reg. tie. If he can wear the vest I am compromise and let him wear the bowtie. But I hate the printed vests, a striped one (or the ones in which the fabric is striped but not a diff color, KWIM?) or a plain one is what I would like.

You can. Both our dads owned tuxes and only rented vest and tie from MW Tux. It was like $20 I think....

Yes, they did! I completely spaced...these are the ones we rented for the GM's and dads. Plain black satin vests and ties from Mens Wearhouse You can get it with either a regular tie or bowtie. I will try to find a picture of the groomsmens so you can see what it looks like
