Can you tell me why people don't extend the consideration you extend to them???

FILs made a big stink about getting an RSVP update daily. So I've done that....every day for the last 5 weeks.

Now our RSVP date has passed and they've got a lot of outstanding ones so phone calls have to be made (they know this.)

Since situations are now reversed, I asked them politely for the same thing they asked of me...a daily update, regardless of whether or not they got any new answers that day.

They haven't been doing it, yet have no problem complaining to their son if say, my update comes late at night!

Grrrrrrr..... I don't understand how people can demand respect and yet, give none back.

Should I just count the outstanding RSVPs as a 'no'? How long do I give FILs to make calls before I just count their outstanding people as no.

let me add that i'm making placecards...they know this and these cards are very time consuming. So in addition to them just frustrating me, they're holding me up.

I would definitely start calling them. I found out that some of the people who didn't respond to mine are coming.

i would say give themm until your hall needs the definite number-- then make a follow up call and say Sorry-- you never responded and unfortunately we cannot wait any longer-- we're counting you as a no.

i have 16 days left and I have about 30 people who just 'dont get it' incluuding in-laws etc... so when they hear the words ' you can't come' maybe they'll realize how disrespectful theyve been
